I will teach you those skills and support you as you make the positive changes YOU want to make to allow you to live the life you envision!
My training as a health and wellness coach emphasizes client led goal setting and an approach that makes achieving your goals enjoyable and rewarding. Together we will craft a customized, realistic plan to improve your health and give you the freedom to focus on the things in your life that bring you true happiness.

I had an idea years ago that I was not working in a field that suited me. I worked in the printing industry but I had a passion for learning about medicine with a strong interest in holistic therapies. As I began to research a career change, I decided to become a nurse but committed to a 5 month EMS course instead to see if I could get over my aversion to seeing blood. Luckily, I achieved my goal and worked as an EMT until I was able to obtain my nursing degree. After earning my degree, I still had a strong interest in holistic medicine and supplemented my nursing degree with a Health & Well Being Coaching certification from Duke Integrative Medicine.
I still practice as a nurse. I see a lot of situations every day that I know are preventable. Gradually, a shift is happening in health care as it realizes that patients need more than a prescription or a vague directive to "exercise more and eat healthier". If that had worked, we would not be where we are now.
Health coaching is a process of guiding you through changing a behavior that is impacting your health. It is something you desperately want to change but have been unable to do it on your own. I help you recognize what is important to you about your health. Together we create a customized plan that uses proven methods to achieve your vision of health. With my guidance, we put the plan into action and make adjustments along the way. My ideal client is the one who has "tried everything" and still hasn't been successful.
